Postdoctoral Position at Department of Biomedical Engineering at University of California, Davis


The postdoctoral researcher will participate in an extramurally-supported project to advance RNA engineering in mammalian cells, as well as other ongoing projects in the laboratory. The successful candidate should have a strong experimental background in one or more of the following fields: chemical biology (especially nucleic acid chemistry), biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology.
The candidate must be capable of carrying out research and learning new techniques under minimal supervision. The initial appointment is one year with possibility of renewal. For further information on our current research interests, visit:

A 3.5-year funded Ph.D. position is available in the group directed by Dr Aïssa at the University of Liverpool (England). The position is available from October 2012. The position will be advertised until filled. Funding is secured on a teaching assistant contract (up to 6h/week) and covers both tuition fees and a maintenance grant (approx £13,000 a year). Only EU/UK citizens with a master degree in chemistry are eligible. Doctoral Studentship in Data Capture and Visualisation at Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering, University College London(for European/UK Students Only)


Doctoral Studentship in Data Capture and Visualisation at Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering, University College London This studentship is only for European/UK Students.The research will focus on designing and implementing a mapping application that answers the needs and wishes of participants in citizen science projects, with a focus on both non-literate and literate participants - for example, the project will include working with non-literate forest communities in Cameroon as well as marginalised communities in London. From a technical perspective, the research will involve considering the most suitable hardware and software platform, designing and implementing the application, and deploying it in the field.
