Post-Doc in Cell Biology

Highlights:

1. Post-Doc position is available at University of Padua for EU applicants.

2. The position is for one researcher who is interested in mechanisms underlying the contribution of progenitor and adult stem cells during liver regeneration, fibrosis and carcinogenesis.

3. The main aim of the project is to study the molecular mechanism of liver regeneration, scaring and carcinogenesis, how liver stem/progenitor cells are involved in the above mechanisms and how these findings could influence the clinical approach to liver disease.

4. The researcher will work within the University of Padua, that is along with such universities as Paris, Oxford and Cambridge, one of the first to exemplify the idea of a Gymnasium Omnium Disciplinarum – an educational model that can now be seen throughout the world.

5. Interested applicants should be highly motivated, have a PhD and/or BSc (or science BA with at least 3 years of lab experience), with strong background in essential molecular and cellular biology experimental techniques including cell culture, DNA cloning/sequencing, PCR, QPCR, RT-PCR, RNA and protein gel electrophoresis, and blot analysis.

6. Experience in flow cytometry is highly desirable.

7. Publications in internationally recognized journals is requested.
