8. Dr. Jianpeng Ma has joint appointments with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine and the Department of Bioengineering at Rice University. The main focus of research in his group is on the combined computational and experimental investigation of important biological problems. The group has a wide range of collaborations with research groups around the world.
9. The members of the group form a dynamic team with diverse backgrounds including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biochemistry and bioengineering. This is an extremely stimulating environment for doing good science. Students and postdoctoral fellows with appropriate backgrounds are encouraged to apply for positions in the group at any time.
10. Interdisciplinary research programs in Dr. Ma's group are supported by funding from federal and private agencies. Among them are National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, the Welch Foundation and American Heart Association.
