Postdoctoral Position in inorganic chemistry and Catalysis

Highlights:
1. The postdoctoral scholar will investigate the synthesis of new ligands and their metal complexes for olefin polymerization and copolymerization studies.

2. The primary focus of the postdoc will be ligand and organometallic synthesis, with the catalytic studies to be performed in collaboration with industrial partners. This is a unique opportunity to participate in an academic-industrial collaboration. The scholar will also have opportunities to participate in several other catalysis-related projects.

3. The term of the position is one year, with possibility of extension by mutual agreement. Starting date is as soon as possible, preferably September-October 2009.

4. A Ph.D. in Chemistry is a requirement, with strong experience in both organic and inorganic (including air-sensitive) synthesis desired. Experience in X-ray crystallography is a plus.

5. The OSU Chemistry Department has state-of-the-art, multi-instrument NMR and X-ray Diffraction facilities that are lightly used relative to many research departments. There is significant opportunity to gain increased expertise in X-ray crystallography in particular.

6. To apply: Please send a curriculum vitae with contact information for three references to Dr. LeGrande M. Slaughter, Department of Chemistry, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK 74078.

Email applications preferred; send to lms@chem.okstate.edu .

7. Oklahoma State University is a land-grant, public research university located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity/E-Verify employer committed to diversity. OSU-Stillwater is a tobacco-free campus.
