PhD Position in Inorganic Chemistry

  3. Duration: 42 months. The studentship will cover tuition fees and an annual stipend of £13,290 for UK/EU students.
  4. A fully funded PhD studentship is available in the group of Dr. Erwin Reisner (School of Chemistry, The University of Manchester) to work on Bio-inspired Solar Hydrogen Production.
  5. This cross-disciplinary research project involves anaerobic synthetic inorganic chemistry, a range of spectroscopic techniques, X-ray single crystal diffraction, electro- and photochemistry, enzyme chemistry, and (nano)materials.
  6. This work is part of a collaborative research programme involving scientists in Manchester, Grenoble (France) and Carnegie Mellon University (USA).
  7. Applicants should have or expect a good to excellent honours degree in chemistry or closely related field. Funding is offered at the standard EPSRC (UK research council) rate for 42 months and the studentship will cover tuition fees at the UK/EU rate (see above).
