Postdoctoral position in Membrane Proteins

Highlights: 
  1. The research group of Dr. Slawomir Filipek offers a challenging research position in the network of twelve high-class European laboratories and three industrial partners within 7FP Marie-Curie Initial Training Network “Structural Biology of Membrane Proteins” (http://www.sbmp-itn.eu/).

Investigations of oligomerization of membrane proteins including development of computational methods for simulation of membrane proteins like G-protein-coupled receptors and membrane proteases (gamma-secretase) using full-atom and coarse-grain approaches. This work will be performed in close collaboration with other members of the team.
  5. Eligibility:
    1. The candidate must be within the first 5 years of their career in research (max 5 years after Master).
    2. Holders of Polish nationality have to have legally resided and had main activity in non-EU-associated country (Switzerland, USA, Canada, Japan etc.) for at least 3 of the last 4 years immediately prior to the recruitment.
    3. Holders of non-Polish nationality must not have resided or carried out main activity in Poland for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment.

  2. Experience in the development of computer simulation methods applied to biomolecular systems including working knowledge of Molecular Mechanics and Dynamics program codes (CHARMM, GROMACS or NAMD).
  3. Programming abilities (C, C++, Fortran, scripting languages) under Linux. Advantageous: parallelization of the code.
  4. Very good communication skills in English, fast and effective knowledge assimilation, a passion toward modeling.
