Highlights:
1. One postdoc position in Biochemistry is open for application.
2. Applicants should be younger than 35 years and should have obtained their PhD in the last 3 years.
3. Closing date 25 October 2009.
4. Applications will depend on a professional proposal that will be peer reviewed.
5. The focus area of our research group is the chemical synthesis of inhibitors targeting HIV, Type II Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, TB, Epilepsy, Malaria and Hypertension.
6. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Biological sciences with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
7. Experience in mammalian cell culture (human cell lines), biochemical, in vitro cell-based cytotoxic and apoptotic high throughput screening assays is required.
8. Fluency in English and strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
9. The position will start in Jan 2010 and will be for 2 years, depending on satisfactory performance in the first year.
