5 FARA will support research with grants provided by the organization itself and by other public, non-profit organizations that are exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(a) as organizations described in section 501(c)(3).
6. FARA intends to pursue a multi-tiered approach. FARA, itself, will provide one tier - smaller, short-range seed grants to attract new research investigators and assist existing investigators by supporting the early phases of their research (including funds for equipment and post-doctoral fellowships).
