2. There is an exciting career opportunity for a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow who has a strong background knowledge and demonstrated research skills in electrochemistry, hydrometallurgy, bioleaching or related areas.You will play a key role in developing and evaluating a new class of potentiometric sensors designed to give fast and accurate detection of bioleaching conditions. These sensors will improve our understanding of interactions between bacteria and mineral surfaces in solution, with the goal of optimising the bioleaching process in various situations.

3.  To be successful in this role you will have a PhD in physical chemistry, electrochemistry, hydrometallurgy, bioleaching or other related field and have less than 3 years postdoctoral experience. You will also have a demonstrated ability to solve conceptual and experimental problems in one or more of the following areas: surface chemistry, physical chemistry, electrochemical sensors; hydrometallurgy; materials science or biomaterials.CSIRO Minerals offers you a well equipped laboratory environment, the support of an innovative research team, with excellent career and development opportunities.
