Highlight:
- This position entails the exploration of principles of molecular recognition to achieve unprecedented selectivity for potential applications involving separation of ions from concentrated electrolyte mixtures.
- The postgraduate researcher will perform experimental studies aimed at understanding the binding and partitioning phenomena underlying selective extractions by novel ion receptors and ion-exchange materials. Efforts will be aimed at both basic understanding as well as development of working systems for real applications.
- Methods will primarily involve distribution measurements, spectroscopic characterization (NMR, UV-vis, FTIR, ESMS), and other techniques as needed. Light organic synthesis may also be required.
