Analytical chemist (gas chromatography) position for Flavour analysis of food by modern chromatographic and spectroscopic methods

Postdoctoral funding in biology/medicine and mathematics, engineering, computer, physical or chemical sciences

Candidates will be expected to identify an important biomedical research question and to propose a personal interdisciplinary training programme to achieve their research aims.

The aim is to support those who will train in a new research area that is complementary to, but distinct from, their current field of expertise, to enable an interdisciplinary approach to their research question – e.g. you might be a physicist wanting to work on a biology-based programme, or a biologist wanting to undertake a bio-engineering project.

Physical Chemistry position at University of Freiburg, Germany

Applicants should have a diploma, master (MSc) or equivalent in Chemistry, with a strong background in inorganic materials. Experience in solid state synthesis will be preferred. Good command of written and spoken English is mandatory. Computer programming skills, e.g. in Matlab or Mathematica is an advantage.

Recruitment of Research Associate under the funded project

Qualifications/experience

Ph.D. (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or allied Sciences). Minimum 60% marks/equivalent grade at Masters Level.

Preference

Preference will be given to candidates with good academic / industry records and capable of managing a project independently.

Job requirement

Work with a team of graduate students and project assistants to characterize Drosophila and mouse Ataxin-2 binding protein 1 in the context of spinocerebellar Ataxia type 2.

Tenure of the project Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period of two years subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the study project.
