The International Ambassador Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to be an excellent international student ambassador applicants must be:

•  a self-funded full-paying overseas fee paying student (please note: EU applicants are not eligible for the scholarship).

•  applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate award, to commence study in September 2012.

Complete the scholarship application form and submit no later than 5pm GMT on Monday 30 July 2012.

A decision will be made by mid-August and successful recipients will be notified by e-mail.

Asia-Pacific Human Development Academic Fellowship for PhD Progamme 2012

The UNDP Asia-Pacific Human Development Academic Fellowship carries an award of US$10,000. Students will be required to submit to UNDP a copy of their final approved dissertation. In addition, fellows may be expected to present their work in workshops, seminars, and other events arranged by UNDP (travel costs will be covered separately).The thesis will acknowledge UNDP’s support by saying: “The author acknowledges the financial support received from the UNDP Asia-Pacific Human Development Academic Fellowship for the research.

Postdoctoral Fellowships (BPD)

They are intended for doctoral candidates, preferably those who have obtained the degree less than six years, to conduct advanced research. The duration of the scholarship is normally annual, renewable for up to a maximum of six years, provided they obtain a favorable opinion on the interim assessment made at the end of the first three years.

PhD Scholarships (BD)

They are intended for those who meet the conditions laid down in paragraph 1 of Article 30 of Decree-Law No. 74/2006 of March 24, amended by Decree-Law No. 107/2008 of June 25, and 230/2009 of September 14, and wishing to develop research and lead to the academic degree of doctor. The duration of the scholarship is, as a rule, annual, renewable up to a maximum of four years and can not be granted for periods of less than six consecutive months.
