Doctoral Studentship in Data Capture and Visualisation at Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering, University College London This studentship is only for European/UK Students.The research will focus on designing and implementing a mapping application that answers the needs and wishes of participants in citizen science projects, with a focus on both non-literate and literate participants - for example, the project will include working with non-literate forest communities in Cameroon as well as marginalised communities in London. From a technical perspective, the research will involve considering the most suitable hardware and software platform, designing and implementing the application, and deploying it in the field.

A Doctoral position is available in the group of Molecular modelling Simulation and Design of the department of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science from September 2012. This position is available with Dr. Paola Carbone at the University of Manchester.

Qualification:
An undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or physics, preferably with some familiarity on molecular simulation techniques. 
Applicants must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a first or upper second class UK honours degree, or equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK, in an appropriate area of science or technology. 



Denmark: PhD Position in Renewable Energy Systems


The PhD Position is one amongst a complete of twelve analysis fellows who are included within the 'Strategic analysis Centre for fourth Generation District Heating Technologies and Systems (4DH)'. 4DH could be a project that runs throughout the amount 2012-2017, with an overall budget of DKK sixty million. Of this, DKK thirty seven million comes from The Danish Council for Strategic analysis (Det Strategiske ForskningsrÃ¥d), and also the rest comes from varied non-public and public organisations. The aim of the 4DH Strategic analysis Centre is to push the event of future fourth generation district heating technology. this can be essential for the achievement of Denmark's goal of being freelance of fossil fuels by 2050 and for achieving the EU's 2020 target.
