Postdoctoral position in Chemistry 2010

Highlights:

1. A postdoctoral associate is needed to work in the group that focuses on multi-scale computational description, and design of novel materials. Depending on qualifications and personal preferences, the PD associate will work either on the design of artificial metallo-enzymes, or on chemistry of catalytic surfaces, and fundamental chemical physics of such systems.
2. We will be closely collaborating with experimental groups in biophysics, molecular biology, enzymology, surface chemistry, and gas-phase spectroscopy.
3. Qualifications: Projects will require understanding electronic structure theory, skills in using ab initio and DFT electronic structure packages, knowledge of statistical mechanics, and programming skills (at least C++ and/or FORTRAN, and scripting).

PhD position in Faculty of Business and Economics

Postdoctoral position at University of Georgia

Highlights:

1. The University of Georgia is seeking a highly-motivated full-time postdoctoral research associate to develop a high-throughput transformation and regeneration system for American chestnut trees.
2. The successful candidate will work as a team member in the UGA School of Forestry and Natural Resources as part of a multi-institutional project applying biotechnology for American chestnut restoration. 
3. The incumbent will design and conduct laboratory experiments in the area of somatic embryogenesis and efficient production of transgenic trees. 
4. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, preparation of reports, manuscripts and presentations and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
5. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in plant biology, horticulture, forestry or related area and publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Expertise in woody plant tissue culture is preferred and experience with plant molecular biology techniques will be considered positively. This appointment is for a fixed term of one year with renewal possible. A PhD position in Mathematical Physics

Highlights:

1. A PhD position in Mathematical Physics (Quantum gravity) will be available in the Emmy Noether research group: Conceptual Questions of Quantum Gravity and Mathematical Structures in Three-dimensional Gravity.
