Postdoctoral associate position in organic synthesis at Department of Chemistry, Korea University

Highlights:
  1. I have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral associate (organic synthesis) in my research group. The stipend ranges from 2.2 to 2.5 million Korean won per month depending on the experience. The position is for a duration of one year with an opportunity to extend for the second year.
  2. The project is aimed towards the synthesis of two-photon probes for biological imaging. There is much interest in the application of two-photon microscopy in biological and medical research.
  3. However, the progress in this field is limited by the lack of efficient two-photon probes for specific applications. We have recently initiated a project by developing two-photon probes and utilization of such probes in various applications (see for example, Acc. Chem. Res. 2009, 42, 863; JACS, 2010, 132, 1216; ACIE, 2010, 49, 364).
  4. We have excellent facilities including tunable femtosecond laser and two-photon microscopy. Once the probes are synthesized, the spectroscopic and bio-imaging studies can be performed in collaboration with our graduate students. It will be rewarding because this is a new and challenging area with possibilities of many important applications.

Postdoctoral in Computational Chemistry

Highlights:
1.      Several post-doctoral positions are available at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) in the Henkel ICIQ Joint Unit.
2.      You will work in a highly dynamic and international team on industrial relevant computational studies of reaction mechanisms, mainly in homogeneous catalysis.
3.      The work will be supervised by Prof. Feliu Maseras. (http://www.iciq.es/portal/352/default.aspx). Henkel, the world market leader in adhesives, sealants and surface technologies, is known for innovative chemistry and materials as the backbone of its product lines. Henkel products address many important markets, such as the automotive and electronics industries as well as craftsmen and consumers.
4.      Requirements for the candidate:
a.       Ph.D. degree in chemistry or material sciences.
b.      Experience in computational chemistry with DFT and DFT/MM methods.

Postdoctoral in Organic Synthesis

Highlights:
  1. A postdoctoral position is available in Amiens (France). This position is proposed by the two CNRS chemistry laboratories settled in Amiens: the UMR 6007 (Laboratoire de Réactivité et de Chimie des Solides, one of the leader in Li-ion batteries researches) and the UMR 6219 (Laboratoire des Glucides, specialized in the transformation of biomass products).

  2. In the course of our researches about the development of new possibilities for the storage of energy in order to reduce the environmental impact of existing technologies, we are proposing a postdoctoral position (12 months, renewable).
  3. The aim is to prepare new organic materials starting from renewable resources in order to develop electrodes for Li-ion batteries able to compete with the available inorganic materials generally used.
  4. We need a skilled organic chemist, with a strong motivation to succeed and a real wish to add to his background strong knowledge in the field of Li-ion batteries, a really hot and rewarding topic today.
