Highlights:
1. PhD studentship is available immediately in Cardiovascular Research Laboratory of Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
2. The project would be to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of cystathionine gamma-lyase gene expression in cardiovascular system (Science 322:587,2008; J Biol Chem 282:16567,2007; EMBO J. 20:6008,2001).
3. Biochemical, cell biological, histological and other molecular biology tools and techniques will be employed during studies.
4. The candidate must hold Masters/equivalent degree in molecular biology/biochemistry/life science or related field.
5. The candidate should be sincere, motivated and team oriented. Prior practical experiences in general molecular biology and animal handling would be an advantage.
6. The successful candidate will be part of cheerful and well-funded research groups with focus on gasotransmitter studies (H2S, NO, and CO) headed by Dr. Rui Wang.
