PhD position at Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing

1. The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram (IIITD&M) was established in 2007 by the Government of India as a Centre of Excellence in the emerging areas of Design and Manufacturing.
2. ABOUT RESEARCH PROGRAMMES: The Institute offers Ph.D. programmes in the disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics.

4. Ph.D. ADMISSION
1. Financial Assistance: The Scholars admitted to the Ph.D. programmes under the regular scheme (fulltime) are eligible for the Half-time Teaching/Research Assistantship (HTRA) under the following regulations:

                                                          

    i.      The scholars should work for 8 hours per week to earn this assistantship.

                                                            ii.      Renewal of assistantship every semester will be contingent on enrolment, satisfactory progress in research work and good performance during the preceding semester in the discharge of responsibility as teaching/ research assistant.

2. In Engineering for those with Master’s Degree in Engineering

Rs.14,000/- p.m. for first 2 years &

Rs.15,000/- p.m. for next 2 years

c.         In Engineering for those admitted directly with B.E / B.Tech degrees

Rs.12,000/- p.m. for first 2 years &

Rs.14,000/- p.m. for next 2 years

d.         In Sciences Rs.12,000/- p.m. for first 2 years & Rs.14,000/- p.m. for next 2 years

5. Documents to be enclosed along with the Application Form:
1. The completed Application form should accompany a DD for Rs. 250 (Rs.125 for SC/ST/PD/Female Candidates). DD should be in favour of ‘IIITD&M Kancheepuram’, payable at Chennai.
2. Copies of all the Mark sheets / grade cards, degree certificates beginning from first degree towards proof of qualification. [Original certificates should not beenclosed.
3. Copy of the Community Certificate in the case of SC/ST/OBC candidates issued by the respective State Government. The OBC candidates have to submit an attested copy of the valid non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed form issued by competent authority.
4.  Authorised Doctor’s Certificate with disability descriptions in the case of Person with Disabled (PD) candidates.
5. Copy of the valid GATE score or NET (UGC-JRF/Lectureship/CSIR/ DAE-JEST) or other fellowship award, as the case may be.
