Postdoctoral positions in Bio-informatics and Chemical Engineering

Highlights:

1. The Bioinformatics and Computational Environmental Engineering research group (BioCENIT), Department of Chemical Engineering at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain).
2. Invites researchers interested in joining several EU projects and co-leading new proposals in the areas of computational environmental chemistry and engineering, and bioinformatics, to apply for two research fellow positions.
3. The aim is to develop and apply new methods, algorithms and procedures that enable a computerized characterization of chemicals suitable for Integrated Testing Strategies for REACH chemicals and to model the environmental effects of nanomaterials.
4. Operational procedures will be developed, tested and disseminated to guide a transparent and scientifically sound evaluation of chemical compounds and engineered nanoparticles in a risk-driven, context-specific and substance/material-tailored manner.
5. Candidates with knowledge in environmental chemistry and bio-informatics, and a reasonable level of expertise in the use of advanced tools for data integration, analysis, and QSAR modelling in the presence of data uncertainty are welcomed. Good reading, writing, and communication skills in English are required.
6. The two positions, either postdoctoral or research associate, and the salary will be decided in accordance with the background and experience of the candidates.
