We are interested in protein secretion in mammalian cells. Most secretory proteins are transported in a first step into the endoplasmic reticulum. This transport can occur co-or posttranslationally. Interestingly, many proteins of the immune system seem to prefer the posttranslational transport. This pathway is hardly investigated and the involved components and their functions are still open (for more information
