Highlights:
- An opportunity has arisen to join Reading University Library as a Liaison Librarian working in one of the faculty teams. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and suitably qualified person who will be able to maintain already established partnerships with staff and students in the designated schools.
- Your liaison responsibilities will involve working with schools in the Faculty of Social Sciences (particularly Law and Politics & International Relations), managing information resources and related budgets, answering subject enquiries, producing subject guides, and teaching information skills.
- Your specialist responsibilities will include overseeing the day to day operations of one of the subject floors in the Library along with a Library-wide role to ensure Library staff are keeping abreast of developments and changes concerning copyright matters.
- You will have:
- A good first degree (honours) or equivalent, and a postgraduate degree or diploma in library/information science or equivalent subject area
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for your liaison and enquiry work, team working and staff supervision
- Reference/enquiry experience including the use of e-resources in an academic environment
- A strong commitment to a high standard of user-focused service delivery
- The ability to prioritise and manage your work effectively, delivering to deadlines
- Experience in using legal information resources would be an advantage
