Highlights:
- A new Research Associate position is available for 36 months in the first instance to work with Dr Guy-Bart Stan at the new EPSRC Centre for Synthetic Biology and Innovation at Imperial College London. The research project will be responsive to the applicant's research history and interests but will fall broadly into the research goals of the Centre: (i) to build foundational tools for the robust and modular design of synthetic biology circuits and (ii) to derive applications using synthetic biology. The project is also an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to cross-over into the exciting field of synthetic biology.
- Applicants should have a PhD (or equivalent) in either, Applied Mathematics, Theoretical (Bio)physics, Control Engineering, Computational Biology, a closely aligned discipline or an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience. Previous experience in nonlinear dynamical systems, control, stochastic modelling of gene expression, systems biology, or equivalent research and industrial or commercial experience is desirable. Previous research on synthetic biology is also desirable but is not a requirement.
- Closing date: 1 June 2010
