Research Scientist position in biotechnology at DNA Genotek

3. The successful candidate will assume responsibilities for research activities directed towards the introduction of future products to meet new market opportunities. You will join an existing strong Research and Development scientific team and will be given the opportunity to grow and develop your career.
4. Responsibilities will include:
   - Designing and executing laboratory experiments, including providing guidance to Lab Technologists.
   - Performing hands-on experiments.
   - Participating in a wide range of scientific discussions.
   - Making presentations to scientific staff and management.
   - Preparing scientific papers and company white papers.
   - Reviewing scientific literature in areas of interest to the company.
   - Assisting in the development and refinement of laboratory protocols as required for Good Laboratory Practice.
   - Assisting in the preparation of patents arising from DNA Genotek research activities.
5. Requirements: 
   - PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, virology and/or cell biology plus a minimum of 2 post-doctoral years of additional training. In exceptional cases, an equivalent combination of relevant job experience and on-the-job training may be suitable.
6. EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
   - Prior experience in an industry setting an asset but not essential.
   - Demonstrated strong problem-solving and scientific abilities
   - Experience in nucleic acid biochemistry or infectious diseases an asset.
   - A keen interest in science, particularly in the development of scientific methodologies
   - Strong academic standing and record of scientific publications
