PhD Position in Bioinorganic Chemistry/Molecular Imaging

Highlights
The group Probe-Design for Molecular Imaging invites applications for a PhD student position (TV-L 13/2) within the department of Experimental Molecular Imaging, RWTH Aachen (Prof. F. Kießling).
We develop specific probes/contrast agents for the analysis of tumor angiogenesis and growth with non invasive imaging modalities, such as MRI, PET and FMT. The studies will be carried out in close collaboration with biological and medical research groups within the department and with partners from other institutions and industry. We offer an excellent infrastructure with several fully equipped laboratories and access to imaging facilities for testing the contrast agents in a clinical setting.
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with a strong scientific background who is willing to translate new ideas. The candidate should enjoy an interdisciplinary environment and closely collaborate with the biological and medical groups of the department as well as with other departments of the RWTH and the clinic.
The position is available for 3 years and can start immediately.
The successful candidate will have a diploma or master degree in chemistry/life sciences and a background in bioinorganic chemistry. Experience in biochemistry as well as an interest in medical technology will be an asset.
Please send applications including CV, letter of intent, undergraduate and diploma/master certificates, and contacts for references from previous research supervisors to:
Dr. Jessica Gätjens, Department of Experimental Molecular Imaging, Helmholtz-Institute, RWTH Aachen, Pauwelsstraße 20, D-52074 Aachen, Germany, e-mail: jgaetjens {at} ukaachen.de.
